Coaching Information
2025-2026 Season
Completing the application is the first step to becoming a volunteer coach with LIHA. The Coaching Committee will review each application and conduct interviews with potential coaches.
Travel coach applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 11. Travel coaches will be interviewed and notified in April. Travel team and High School Club Select tryouts will take place in July/August.
Select and House coach applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, August 15. Select and House coaches will be interviewed and notified in August. Select team tryouts will take place in October once the House season has started.

2025-2026 Coaching Requirements
Additional steps required upon selection as a LIHA Coach:
- Register for a USA Hockey Number.
- Complete the Background Check (LIHA will provide you with an 8-digit ID Number).
- Complete SafeSport Training.
- Complete age-specific training modules.
- Find, register, and attend a USA Hockey Coaching Clinic.
LIHA reimburses coaches for background check fees and age-specific training module fees.
